Two nights this week provided us with two opportunities to watch our favourite, Aaron Paul, in brand new episodes of top rated TV. It really is amazing that we have this joy of not only seeing AP in new works, but in two TV shows that are currently receiving rave reviews from all quarters.
First up was WESTWORLD, we’re currently in the fourth season and AP’s second as Caleb Nichols. The episode was called ‘Fidelity’, which sees Caleb facing a battle to try and escape from Charlotte, and reach out to his daughter.
The reaction to this episode was immense, with Twitter coming alive with many calling Aaron’s performance breathtaking and Emmy nomination worthy.
Never be discouraged by starting small, because today’s lowly Corn Pops commercial could lead to you becoming one of the greatest dramatic actors of the future.
In closing, watch Westworld. Aaron Paul is literally killing the track every time he grabs the mic.

And then… we returned to the Crystal Ship
Then, 24 hours later Aaron Paul returned to our screens in the long awaited first appearance of Jesse Pinkman in BETTER CALL SAUL. A true treat for fans of both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, and it was so much more than ‘just’ fan service, it really was complimentary to the episode and really did make you start to re-evaluate what you thought you knew about Breaking Bad.
The episode was called ‘Breaking Bad’, which was simply wonderful, a nice nod to Saul Goodman’s first appearance in Breaking Bad episode ‘Better Call Saul’ – and it returned us directly into that episode, to make the deal even sweeter.
For the most part fans rejoiced at the return of their favourite bickering duo, Walt and Jesse. Many praised how well they both slipped right back into their confrontational tones, the script allowing them to simply argue over any detail and it was a joy to watch once again.
Strangely, for a fandom smart enough to recognise Breaking Bad as one of TV’s best, there were a fair few that just seemed shocked and stunned that in the 13 years since the original episode aired, Aaron Paul had aged… 13 years… the horror.
Look how easily Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul switched to the cautious Walter White and headstrong Jesse Pinkman that we knew way back in S2 of Breaking Bad. Brilliant Acting. #BetterCallSaul #BreakingBad

Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul slipped back into Walt and Jesse like butter, baby. I feel so incredibly blessed to see these two phenomenal actors slip right back into such an astounding role. What an incredible universal we have all been blessed with. #bettercallsaul

To Breaking Bad fans who can’t suspend their belief seeing an aged Aaron Paul play an amazing #bettercallsaul scene. I hope Jesse Pinkman deems you A BITCH, YO

Our thoughts…
@jilbo – This week has truly been a joy, from watching two fantastic episodes of television to then reading through the outpouring of emotions from both Westworld fans rejoicing at what they deemed to be the best episode of WW, to Breaking Bad fans pleased to finally see the return of Walt and Jesse.
I was a casual viewer of Westworld, and admittedly it was only after rewatching season three that I realised that my first watch of it at the start of lockdown had a really negative impact on how I originally viewed it, and I don’t think I was alone. Second viewing I was hooked so much more, and season four has been simply amazing – with the bonus of Caleb really coming into his own as a character I now am totally behind. The last three episodes have been stunning, and naturally as a fan of AP it’s just so lovely to see his character really come alive (ironically… no spoilers but I’ve made myself laugh there…)
And then Better Call Saul turns up. Being in Brit land I don’t get to see BCS until Tuesday, and it goes live at 8am. I am not a morning person but for Better Call Saul I am the most morning of people, this entire season has been mesmirising and totally worth the early wake up to watch before work. Obviously this past episode ‘Breaking Bad’ had a little added bonus, I was actually nervous, on edge, I just wanted it to be right – not a throwaway, and of course the team I’ve come to trust so much did not let us down.
I’m probably bias but I think Aaron as Jesse looked amazing, and to hear the bickering between Jesse and Mr White I was thrown right back into that world I love (and miss) so much. I really hope in the near future we do get something that puts Paul and Cranston together again, I don’t think they need to wait – this can’t be the last time we see them share the screen! I can reluctantly accept that it may have been the last time we see Walt and Jesse together, but please, please, don’t let it be the last time we see Paul and Cranston together.
@aaron_paul_fc – When we are fans of someone, what we most want to see is the work of our idols, and the title of this post says it all βWhat a week to be a fan of Aaron Paulβ.
Wonderful week, Aaron being spectacular in everything he does, impressing us with every scene, leaving us with our jaws dropped and goosebumps with all his talent.
And it’s so beautiful to be able to follow all the positive comments, everyone surrendering to his talent and recognizing the great artist he is, it overflows my heart with joy.
When I watched Caleb in the third season of Westworld I found everything a little enigmatic, I loved seeing a work with Aaron Paul but I was confused and didn’t draw conclusions about his character, I eagerly awaited the next season in search of more clarity regarding Caleb.
2022 has arrived, Westworld has arrived, Caleb has arrived and Aaron Paul has arrived⦠and he has arrived with everything and I agree with the twitter comments, that his performance is worthy of an Emmy.
From the first scene he started showing what he came for and his performance was gaining strength with each new episode, and the best thing is that it’s not over yet.
Everything would be perfect if it stopped there, but this is our idol’s year, and two days later we came across Jesse Pinkman, how crazy!!
That character that made me fall in love with Aaron Paul, that character that brought me out of the chaos I was living in, was there again making me laugh and making me emotional.
For me everything was perfect, it’s like Jesse was always there making Walter White lose his temper and Breaking Bad never ended. And how good it is to have that feeling, and once againβ¦ I’m glad it’s not over yet!
Now for the best part of this article…
We can to see Aaron Paul in both Westworld and Better Call Saul again next week! (if IMDb is correct!) – Enjoy the ride and see you next week for another celebration of the double episodes!
