Aaron Paul’s challenge to live out his characters. What does an actor have to do to achieve long-awaited success? Does he arrive, read your script, do his interpretation and leave for home?
If it was that simple, I think it would be too easy. I’m not a show business scholar, actually I don’t know anything about it.
But I’m a fan of an actor who became a big star. Following his story, his trajectory I realized that for him it wasn’t that easy. He had a long way to go before he reached the top.
Even after having achieved so much success he does things, and goes through things, that we can’t even imagine. Simply to bring more reality to the characters he plays.
I’m going to share with you some things Aaron Paul has had to do. The difficult situations he had to face on this trajectory.
In the movie Need For Speed he plays Tobey Marshall. He is a former racer who participates in an illegal street race. Travelling across the country in a Ford Mustang to avenge his friend’s death.
Most of the scenes are done by stuntmen. Our idol of course wanted to take on some stunts and for that he had specialized training by a stunt team.
In his training he received instructions on how to reverse at high speeds, make 180 degree turns and extreme braking.
In the video we realized that this was fun for Aaron! And of course it brought a lot of naturalness to the film. We don’t see false cgi scenes, it sounded like our idol was a natural, and had been doing it his whole life.
In a recent post on instagram I left you what director Scott Waugh says about AP. Follow our Instagram page and check it out!
Aaron was in the third season of Westworld. Everything was so perfect. His interpretation was so impeccable. It’s so beautiful to see and follow how he gives himself completely to everything he does. There’s no way not to watch and be enchanted.
But we didn’t even imagine that to reach that level of perfection our idol lost many nights of sleep.
He has already reported in some interviews that much filming the series had to be done at dawn. How many nights did Aaron need to go without sleep, did he need to be away from his family? Well, not everything is glamor in the life of an actor.
In the movie Triple 9 our idol radically changed his look, made a very daring cut, changed his hair color to black and even wore contact lenses.
He looked completely different from the other characters that he’s played. If he intended to shock, our idol both shocked and slayed, he was on fire!
But this radical change also had its bad points, long before the movie premiered, many followers didn’t know the change in look was for a film.
Aaron received harsh criticism online and a lot of judgment (I prefer not to bring this subject to this page). What I mean is that for this movie Aaron didn’t pass through the flowers intact, unfortunately he was caught by some thorns unfairly .
Being a famous actor of course must be very rewarding. But having your life exposed, being judged for every step, for every attitude just isn’t cool!
During the filming of Central Intelligence, Aaron injured his neck, we assume during the scene where he was beaten by Rock. Once again… my poor idol!
And what about what Aaron had to go through to play Jesse Pinkman?
I think these stories are already well known among Aaron’s fans and Breaking Bad fans, but it’s always good to remember.
For starters Aaron spent a few late nights in alleys, surrounded by people like Jesse, to learn everything about the world he was now going to be playing in.
He also had the one scene with the drug dealer Tuco, where he was really injured and had to be taken to the hospital.
Here’s what Aaron said about it:
“Raymond Cruz, who played Tuco, gave me a concussion during the episode ‘Grilled’, where Tuco takes Walt and Jesse to his shack in the middle of nowhere, where we meet the famous “Uncle”. Paul said “Tuco takes Jesse and he throws it through the screen door outside, and if you watch back you’ll notice my head gets stuck inside the wooden screen door and he flips me over and lands me on my stomach and the door shatters. a million pieces.”
Aaron explained that although he had already rung the bell pretty well, Cruz continued with the take, believing Paul was just a good actor.
“Raymond just thought I was acting, so he went ahead and kicked me in the side and grabbed me over his shoulder and threw me against the house. But in reality I was practically unconscious [at that point],” he said. “I kept begging him saying ‘stop’. Next thing I know, I think I passed out, and I woke up with a flashlight in my eyes and it was our doctor. And then I jumped up acting like nothing was wrong, but it felt like I was drunk, and I kept saying ‘let’s finish the scene’. But then my eye started to swell and they took me to the hospital. Just another fun day on the set of Breaking Bad!”
This is so shocking isn’t it? That alone is enough to understand that this business is not all glamor to the pursuit of making these programmes. Our idol really gave it all to play Jesse Pinkman. There were other episodes in BrBa that pushed Aaron, but I’ll leave it for another narrative.
When the movie, or a series arrives on our TV, everything is impeccable and we can’t even imagine what has occurred behind the scenes for that show to reach that final result.
After learning all this, I can only admire Aaron Paul for all his dedication to the craft and respect him even more. He went through a few tough times during his work, and spared no effort to make everything look flawless.
Congratulations my idol, you are a star! ?
