I’m not a fashion expert, but everything about Aaron Paul interests me including his style. I can’t say if our guy is concerned about always being up to date and on top of trends, but he’s certainly gave us some interesting looks at the start.
Everyone will remember that in 2012 AP attracted a lot of of attention in Burberry’s front row during the 2013 Summer Women’s Fashion Week. He became the talk at the time with a lot of memes, due in part to the fact Aaron looked lost and a little unsure in that environment.
AP joined in the fun and shared on his social media the favorite of the memes.
Fashion in the year 2000
In the 2000s, fashion itself was a little chaotic but as ever, the young people loved it. There weren’t many rules to follow and the less harmony between the pieces, the nicer it was.. And the excesses? What young person didn’t love excesses?
And how do I know this? Well, I lived it. I also lived the chaotic clothing outbreak… but let’s forget about my age, and this isn’t about my fashion choices.
The first decade of the 21st century went hand in hand with the growing popularization of the internet. Suddenly information and interactions began to cross borders in a crazy way, and fashion found itself a part of that. What was once a cultural thing, now there was no more borders and all style references were boosted even more by the rise of social media.
Celebrities became a greater source of inspiration. And the rules? What rules? Who cares about rules when you’re young and want to make a fuss about dressing up?
Aaron Paul in the 2000s
Now let’s get into the real reason for this post, it’s time to talk and shine a light on the young Aaron Paul. The one from the 2000s and his endeavors in clothing identity.
At the age of 20, our idol had a very daring way of dressing.
You’ve probably already seen pictures of the very young Aaron, with very flashy clothes. Some sites even say that ‘maybe’ he was an enemy of fashion (important note: We at APFans do not agree…victim maybe, but not an enemy!! lol).
I personallly think this is an exaggeration when we are talking about a young man who was still looking for his visual identity. Let’s agree that at that age ALMOST everything was allowed, he was just a young man exercising his right to be young.
The exuberant and flashy way in which Aaron dressed in these early days showed us very early signs of what was clearly an outstanding personality just waiting to be discovered.
Maybe consider the facts that his way of dressing could have been a smart strategy? Was it to get the attention of the girls, or more likely the press, since now he was on the quest to conquer Hollywood and needed the spotlight to shine on him.
If indeed it was that Aaron Paul wanted to attract attention through his unique sense of style, then he really succeeded. There are so many articles online that we can find about his ‘different’ way of dressing in the 2000s.
He was really imaginative with the pieces he chose to compose his final looks, they were, let’s say, very striking. AP had mixtures of colors and prints, many prints. There were ties outside the collar, very wide clothes to make up a more grungy style. Ultimately with all these fashion choices, so many different ideas and styles Aaron didn’t go unnoticed in the ‘experimental’ noughties.
I don’t think there is right or wrong when choosing an outfit, it should always come down to what makes us feel good, regardless of whether it’s considered fashionable or not.
That’s it… the important thing is to feel good and not care whether or not other people like the way you look.
Seeing photos and videos of AP in his mid-20s, it’s clear that he truely lived the moment that youth allows. How many people allow the fear of what other people think, stop them? Certainly not Aaron Paul.
A few years have now passed since these heady days, and it is clear that Aaron Paul has significantly changed his way of dressing. Today he is a little more sophisticated, perhaps a little more dashing (perhaps taking good advice of a stylist… lol).
Aaron Paul has developed a bold style. Whether or not he follows fashion trends, we don’t know, but one thing is for sure, he is a man of strong personality and he reinforces that by dressing, he is unstoppable and how we love that about him.
He’s unique, he has a whole ‘Aaron Paul’ style of being, and that makes him even more special!
But Aaron Paul’s more refined and modern look these days will be the subject of another topic on another day.
