Aaron Paul has participated in several red carpet style interviews throughout his career, he has talked about many and varied subjects. It’s fair to say he has spoken about his work as an actor quite a lot, and parts of his personal life, then just lately he has given many interviews to talk about his beverage company “Dos Hombres” .
We decided to dip into some video archives courtesy of the Getty Images’ wonderful back catalogue of amazing footage of Aaron’s early interviews. Today I decided to bring you a little memorable moment that occurred in 2011, while Aaron participated in the event “Men of the Year” by GQ, in Los Angeles – CA.
It was a quick, light, fun and a lovely relaxed conversation with the Gettyimages team.
Check out the transcript below:
INT: How does it feel to be nominated this year?
AP: it feels great. It feels great, yeah.
INT: Do you consider yourself a baddass?
AP: I don’t know. Is is that my slogan? (INT explains the cast is nominated for Badass of the year) Ohh, really? Baddass of the year. I didn’t know that, but I love that. That’s great.
INT: Now we watch the show. You find yourself in many precarious situations. Very nerve-wracking. What makes you nervous in real life?
AP: God, what doesn’t make me nervous in real life? I don’t know. I have no idea. Lots of things make me nervous.
INT: OK. And now one of the other questions that you really want to know is if you could be any flavor of ice cream, what would it be?
AP: Oh my God. Rainbow. I think the rainbow, rainbow sherbert. I think that’s an exciting combination of flavors. That’s not even my favorite flavor of ice cream, but I think that’s the most exciting.
INT: OK, one last question. If you weren’t an actor, where would you see your career?
AP: I would be a a kindergarten teacher hands down cause I love kids like no other. I have 14 nieces and nephews and I think their little brains are such sponges and they’re such curious little creatures at that age. I would love to create sort of some interesting activities some games and and just mess around and have fun.
INT: You said 14 nieces and nephews?
AP: Yeah 14 neices and nephews, it’s a lot. Yeah my my siblings have been very very busy.
INT: So when are you going to get on the board?
AP: I don’t know. We’ll see one day for sure. That is certain.
INT: I know there’s gonna be pressure from your family.
AP: Haha. Yeah. My mom in particular definitely wants to see some children coming out of me. So we’ll see.
INT: We hope to see some Breaking Bad coming out too.
AP: Yes. Thank you. Thank you so much.
INT: Congratulations on the honor.
AP: Thank you so much.”
Do you realize how much information there was to take in, in such a very short time of conversation?
I loved every word, and enjoyed every one of our guy’s responses. He’s so light and talkative here, letting his words flow. An interview style that’s a little different from the ones we are used to seeing in recent times, where Aaron now appears much more confident.
Rainbow Ice Cream
No, of course Aaron Paul wouldn’t be a chocolate or strawberry ice cream, he’s far too charming and would never be so obvious. He maybe is the only person on the face of the Earth who if he were an ice cream would be the rainbow flavor, that’s really the best option for him.
He never ceases to amaze us, and thinking more about his response, I realize that no other flavor would be as ‘Aaron Paul’ as rainbow ice cream – he really gave the perfect response with excellent reasoning.
And now I have a new favorite ice cream flavor. 🙂
kindergarten Teacher
That answer was what most caught my attention most in this conversation… Kindergarten teacher? Is this serious?
How many Aaron Paul interviews have you seen? How many times have you heard him talking about what other profession he would pursue if he weren’t an actor?
That is the only time I have heard Aaron talking about another profession, and this was some time ago when he was still young, he wasn’t a father yet… if this question were asked to him today, would this still be his answer?
I would really like to ask this question to my idol, because this has been my own profession for 19 years… yes, I’m a kindergarten teacher so seeing Aaron here saying that maybe he would follow this profession, my profession, if he weren’t an actor made my jaw drop.
It is clear to me that Aaron would be a great teacher, he has already shown several signs that he is good with children, he has a sensitive look, empathy, is affectionate, fun to be around. I could spend hours here describing all the points and characteristics that prove that he would certainly have success with kindergarten students.
He is always surprising, but thankfully everything worked out for him in Hollywood, and Aaron has become a successful, world-renowned actor. Maybe if he had followed the second option he would literally be without hair now, lol – and even worse, I wouldn’t have someone to call an idol!
This post was to confirm (again) just how incredibly cute Aaron Paul is, and for us here at aaronpaulfans, reconfirms why we play in this whole lovely universe that surrounds our idol – and with these new discoveries we continue to unearth to make this website a true shrine to our hero!
