We are NOT Aaron Paul. Even though it’s been over a year, we can confirm that we are still NOT Aaron Paul. We are however a 100% Unofficial Aaron Paul fan community consisting of an Instagram feed and a website, that has been well over a year in the making. We felt now might be a good time to review, and take stock of why we do what we do.
The above image and headline serves only to be as clear as possible that we have no affiliation with the actor Aaron Paul, his people or any of his business interests. Aaron Paul does follow our instagram feed, views occasional posts but beyond that there is no form of contact of any kind.
What prompted this post?
We do at times receive responses, messages and notes that would suggest the sender ‘believes’ we are Aaron Paul. It always baffles us, we feel the content we post would be really strange for the man himself to be posting, but it happens enough that we felt this was worth reiterating, and a good excuse to offer our pleas as to why we do this.
Firstly, ‘we’ are two people and Aaron Paul is only one person. Secondly, we are not Aaron Paul, in fact we’re so far from being Aaron Paul – we are two ladies of a certain age (cough it’s not our twenties…), living in two different countries with a time difference of 4 hours, we don’t even speak the same language. One of us is a teacher, the other a marketing manager.
Why do we do this?
Simply, because we can. It’s fun and it really does keep us out of trouble. We bonded over our mutual appreciation of the actor Aaron Paul, having both ‘discovered’ Breaking Bad around the same time. Caroline founded the Aaron_Paul_FC instagram, that started all this and Jilbo jumped on board a few months later and built this website to form Team APFans.
What is involved in maintaining AP Fans?
We talk daily over instagram. The bulk of the work is done by the very dedicated Caroline, with Jilbo offering support with content suggestions, English proofing and website maintenance.
Some days we talk for ages, other days we just check in with each other. Some days we’ve even been known to talk about stuff that isn’t Aaron Paul related at all (the horror!!). We are driven by the response we get to the instagram posts, with Caroline posting daily, it’s all about seeking out images and little facts or information to share, for fellow fans to enjoy. Our aim is to provide a place online for fans new or old to just be able to come to daily, either to enjoy some photos or if they visit the site, to have enough information to digest that keeps them entertained and informed. Hopefully this website also acts as a bit of an online archive for a 20+ career of a very talented human being.
The Website
When we launched the website in March 2022 we had minimal content but a lot of ideas. In the past 12 months we have added so much content, covering a wide range of different topics all relating to Aaron Paul’s career. As it has grown, so has it’s vistors and it’s now beginning to break through into the google search results on Aaron Paul!
Even now, nearly 16 months since we started the site, we are coming up with ideas and new content to keep growing the site. It’s fun to research particular aspects, and yes, at times it feels like a thankless task but then we see the visitors and it’s worth it. The most searched content right now is anything relating to Aaron Paul’s and/or Jesse Pinkman’s tattoos… would you have guessed that was something people would be searching for so frequently?
We are fans… Probably more so now than ever before
Aren’t we sick of Aaron Paul now? After so long working on the instagram posts and website?
No… in fact, working on all this, the friendship we’ve formed – this is now so much more than anything we originally intended.
It’s fun coming up with ideas.
It’s fun putting content together.
It’s fun learniing new skills, trying new things and seeing little successes along the way.
We are not exactly changing the world but we are doing something that gives us both our own escape from our real lives, that continue to constantly try us, and it stops us being miserable.
Why Aaron Paul?
Without him, his talent and charisma both in character and from what we’ve seen of him in interviews and in general, this really would be a lot harder for us to maintain to the levels we do.
He quite simply makes the perfect subject matter for a project like this, and the more we see and learn of him we always feel we really lucked out with our subject – we chose wisely.
Obviously there is a passion behind what we do, our shared admiration for Aaron Paul’s work is fundementally why any of this exists and what keeps us able to continue this little venture. We are fans, plain and simple, we can never deny that and we’ll happily fall on that sword. Are we crazy? Possibly, neither of us know Aaron Paul, or have ever met him yet here we are, doing all this for zero reward and a smile on our faces. Essentially, by doing this we get to legitmately hunt down so many obscure photos, watch some fascinating movies, marvel at some choice performances that keeps showing us why we are such dedicated fans. We have no plans to stop, its far too much fun and in all honestly, neither of us want to stop. We want to continue to celebrate an actor who has captured our own creative spirts, with his dedication, his likeability, his talent and so many talking points… so, so many (honest… we can post on Instagram every single day with no problem after all!)
I feel we need to counter this, show some balanced, reasonable comment to ensure we demonstrate that naturally no one person can be that perfect. Once we find evidence of any flaws, you can bet that we’ll likely stick our fingers in our ears and go ‘la, la, la’ and have a cup of tea, and hope it passes over quickly so we can resume our celebrations with renewed optimism. Saying that, we do sometimes, maybe have a slight issue when he shaves his lovely hair, but honestly, not a problem, just saying… its ok… we get over it, it’s just hair, hair is good, it’s lovely. Moving on…
Essentially we do this for fellow fans, for the always perfect and amazing Aaron Paul and most important of all… we do this for ourselves.
We have no idea if Aaron Paul is fully aware of what we do, but that’s not the point. What we do is for his fans, a celebration of his career and his very being, but with that we still maintain our own code of conduct as a mark of our respect to Aaron Paul. We strive to keep any information we post as accurate as possible, we stay clear of gossip or rumours, we are not a news site so we avoid misinformation as much as possible. We will never post pictures of his children, and try to always remain respectful in our comments and observations. This respects extends to the fact that should we ever cross an unknown line, ever post something that causes concern or upset unknowingly that we would always be fair, approachable, reasonable and show willing to make things right. We have no agenda bar pure celebration, and trying to make everyone happy and ourselves entertained.
Oh and in case it’s still not clear… We are still not Aaron Paul.
