2026 has arrived, so what do we have to look forward to as Aaron Paul fans?
It’s shaping up to be a good year for upcoming projects, with two movies already in post production and one movie currently in pre-production. Let’s take a closer look with what we already know.
THE NIGHT HOUSE
A horror/thriller, a story of an orphaned young man who witnesses his friends disappearing in a horrific way, that no one beleives happened, causing all suspicion to land on him and a journey to solve the mystery knowing the dark forces are coming for him.
Based on a best selling novel by Jo Nesbo, who also adapted the screenplay alongside the director Jesper Ganslandt. Aaron Paul plays the main character ‘Richard’ in his older years, with Jacob Tremblay taking on the younger years. Filming took place last summer (2025) in Alava, Spain.
No official images have been released from the production yet, and it’s still in post production status. There should be a trailer soon, we hope 🙂

BEAR COUNTRY
This action thriller was filmed on the Gold Coast, Queensland in Australia in early 2025 and is currently in post production.
Manco Kapak, owner of a club, is robbed and faces threats from cartels. His dream of selling the club and retiring with his girlfriend is jeopardized. A newcomer pretends to be interested in buying the club, adding further complications.
Also starring Russell Crowe, Luke Evans and Nina Dobrev, Aaron Paul plays Jeff, a community college teacher who finds himself embroiled in a robbery plot and then later, caught up in the aftermath. This film is also based on a best selling novel, this time by Thomas Perry called ‘Strip’. Thanks to Nina Debrov sharing pics online, we have a few nice behind the scenes shots!

THE MIDNIGHT POOL
Currently in ‘pre-production’ status, waiting for filming to commence. This film has so far only announced Aaron Paul playing an unknown character, with ‘V for Vendetta’ director James McTeigue down to direct.
It’s not known when filming will commence, if it will be this year – you can only assume but the description certainly captures the imagination. ‘A disillusioned investigative journalist becomes consumed with exposing an elite secret society, forcing him to confront both his shadowy past and a nightmarish new reality.’ We can assume Aaron Paul is playing the lead, or one of the leads in this psychological thriller once filming commences with a release date likely to be in 2027.
And that’s all we know for now. Personally I hope there could be more ‘Dispatch’ in the pipeline, though realistically that wouldn’t come out this year. But with two ‘thrilling’ films to look forward to, 2026 is looking to be an interesting year for fans!
