Today, the work I do is very different to the work I was doing five years ago. Its fair to say I got myself stuck in a rut, I’d stopped challenging myself and more importantly, I stopped learning new things. Then I discovered the work of Aaron Paul, and he became a very helpful muse.
That all changed at the end of 2019 when I finally decided to focus on my more creative instincts, I started to do more ‘art’ – painting, drawing and digital. Below is a gallery of some of my best bits from the past four years, when my ‘muse’ Aaron Paul provided the inspiration to test new methods, skills and play with photoshop and illustrator like I’d never done before.
The result of my efforts is I’m now a recognised graphic designer in my professional life, producing artwork and files I never would have even three years ago. I’d have relied on a more qualified person, but because of what started as my ‘silly little plays’, they’ve now evolved into ‘very useful time’. Mostly spent keeping up with the ever changing landscape of digital art, improving my skills and making sure I never hit that rut again.
I hope you enjoy the little journey below – displayed in no particular order or sequence, all completely random so you won’t be able to tell the oldest from the latest (hopefully) but the subject never changes lol!!
Thank you Aaron Paul for being the best muse.
