Breaking Bad: Collectors Corner – Challenge Coins

These Breaking Bad challenge coins are an amazing set that were released by Mezco in 2014, and when I first started collecting in 2020 were often available on ebay, though now you see them less often. These coins were only available initially through special promotions and events, and getting the full set was quite a challenge! I am however grateful I was able to pick the majority up in a job lot, rather than going to different retailers or events like at the time.

The final coin I had to pick up was only available in the special barrel series box set, and that proved to be the trickier to get, as the set is quite collectable in itself. That is the red one (marked below) and most closely resembles the actual challenge coins that this set is influenced by.

The original coins were designed by Vince Gilligan and given out to cast and crew for each season of Breaking Bad. These coins can sometimes come up for sale but are usually 3-4 figure sums, so I very much doubt I’ll ever add one of these beauties to my collection, but I’m more than happy with the more commerical complete set I do own!
